Legislation and Risk Management
Description
Students will be provided with an overview of Canada's and Ontario's legal systems as well as be introduced to various statutes that affect the recreation profession. Tort law dealing with negligence and liability issues will be a major course focus. A case study approach will be utilized to provide students with strategies to help identify, manage, and mitigate risks and potential injuries. Students will learn risk management practices related to the safe operation of programs and facilities.
