Advanced Web Design and Development
Description
Take your web design skills to the next level and improve your qualifications with this certificate. You'll write your own HTML code and delve into CSS3 and HTML5. Depending on the elective you choose, you'll learn about search engine optimization, programming, databases or dynamic websites.
Certificate requirements
Complete the following required ed2go courses:
- Advanced Web Pages
- Advanced CSS3 and HTML5
- Responsive Web Design
- Complete One of the following ed2go courses as an elective:
- Achieving top Search Engine Positions
- Intermediate PHP and My SQL
- Intermediate Java Programming
- Intermediate SQL
Note: All courses must be taken through Professional Development at the University of Waterloo in order to be eligible for the certificate from Professional Development.
Each course is six weeks long, followed by a two-week period to complete the final exam (online, open book) and you are not required to be online at any specific time. Lessons are released on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week. For planning purposes we suggest setting aside two hour per lesson as a starting point.
To register, click the course links above and select a start date. Instructions on how to access your course will be emailed to you immediately after registration. It is best practice to enrol for no more than two courses with the same start date to achieve the highest learning outcome.
