This course will explore the skills and knowledge necessary for effective and professional communication as a Recreation Therapist, considering communication with clients, families, and amongst the allied healthcare team. Professional accountability will be explored, along with professional standards and ethical practice in therapeutic recreation. Interprofessional collaboration will be highlighted, focusing on the role of the recreation therapist within an interdisciplinary team.
