Fieldwork III (DSAD)
Description
In this course, students will continue to gain experience in settings that meet the needs of students and individuals living with learning needs and disabilities. Students will continue to apply theory, competencies, and skills learned in the classroom in the Developmental Services or Education Sector. In addition, students will have the opportunity to support inclusion, independence, and autonomy that will enhance the quality of life of students and individuals living with learning needs and disabilities. Students are encouraged to consider their career goals and to choose their final placement in the Sector where they would like to start their careers. As an integral part of the placement, students will participate in a Professional Development Series that will include opportunities for workshops, training, and/or certifications. Prior to starting Placement, students must present an original copy of a current Criminal Records Check - Vulnerable Sector Screening, Standard First Aid and CPR - Level C certificate, and industry certifications. In addition, students must present their health documentation including up-to-date immunization records, Two-Step TB test, and the completed medical and nonmedical documentation for Paramed.
