Field Practicum III
Description
In this course, students will be expected to be in placement for a five-week block in an early learning setting chosen by the college where they will apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom in a practical setting. During this block placement, students will build on the skills developed in Field Practicum II as they demonstrate competence in building relationships with children that reflects an understanding that children are capable, competent, and curious. Students will be expected to plan and implement an emergent curriculum that is anti-biased, in consultation with agency and college advisors. Focus in the curriculum planning area will be on math, science, and social studies. Students will provide evidence of a valid Standard First Aid Certificate prior to commencement of the placement.
