Emergency Services Structure

Description

In this course, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of emergency services' organizational structure, roles, and technologies. You will navigate the hierarchy of command, differentiate between civilian and sworn personnel, and become proficient at effective communication within the emergency system. You will explore the responsibilities of police, fire, and EMS departments, grasp the significance of civil and criminal law, and learn to dispatch emergency calls and resources. Additionally, you will uncover the role of technology, Next Gen (NG) 911, and mobile technology (MDT) in enhancing emergency response. Approvals, protocols, and liability considerations will be covered, and you will acquire skills in managing emergency calls and providing navigational guidance to responders, shortening response times.
