Child Abuse
Description
In this course, students will examine the indicators and effects of child abuse in relation to the child, family, community, and society. The role of professionals, especially Registered Early Childhood Educators, in detecting signs of child abuse and the legal obligation to report suspected abuse is stressed. Students will examine the appropriate supports for families who have been identified as being "at-risk" and for families who have experienced abuse.
